batman and robin extraby *duss005

for the 850th issue anniversary of DETECTIVE COMICS [link] (out today!), we used two pinups i created as book ends for the double sized issue.

this was one of them, i posted it here a few months back in just linework. i added tones for the final use. the actual printed one has touches of color to it.

this was the other [link] used as the title page. the original is part of Lee Johnson's Collection who is trademarked THE Batfan ( with over 15,000 + items in his collection and part of Ripley's believe it or not. i think he owned one of the movie batmobiles, too, at one point). Really great guy and very glad to have that piece go to him.

this is excellent art. you did a fabulous job demonstrating the contrast in size between bats and robin. gorgeous coloring and shadowing too. excellent work my friend
