the thumbs for Detective Comics #840. these mostly were done pretty fast on paper with markers and pencil. then toned in photoshop, no bigger than 8x10

This was my first cover to detective when i jumped on board, the many before i came on was all done strictly in grayscale and DC wanted to bring color back to the covers. I felt this was a good way to bridge it back on, but not too drastically, mostly gray and a strong red background.

Cool! Never saw the roughs to this one. The first one woulda made for a cool composition, but the final version worked best to make a splash.

Heck, I'm just happy to own the original :) Cuz I sure as heck couldn't afford your ebay rates!!
