aside from the film just being amazing, one thing i really enjoyed about the cinematography was the use of the very limited palette of blues/grays/browns in all the current situation scenes. with the flashbacks in very vibrant warm colors to contrast better times.

again, an amazing piece of work, and aside from it being obviously depressing- it's actually holds very optimistic values. also, it reminded me much of Isao Takahata's Grave of the Fireflies ( in some parts).
Fuggin beautiful something about traditional art thats more amazing then digital art sometimes especially with watercolor beign the "uncontrollable" medium. AWESOME
